Roller shutters on the beach
The municipality of Knokke asked us to secure a lifeguard post on the beach. It is an open lifeguard post which is fully manned during the summer day, but not at night and during the winter period, when materials are stored for rescue missions and it is nice to be able to keep unwanted guests out so that vandalism can be kept to a minimum.
It proved possible to install two rolling gates here, preserving the open character of the rescue post as well as the sea view and visibility through the site. In addition, this solution provided the required protection from uninvited guests. As these rolling gates are exposed to seawater, wind and sand, it was decided to maintain them once a year.
